Peels

Before & After Care

CHEMICAL PEEL TREATMENT

(BEFORE AND AFTER CARE)

Pre peel

  • Avoid intense exfoliation (retinols, AHA\BHA exfoliants, or scrubs for at least 3-5 days before treatment)
  • Sun exposure (minimum 1 week prior treatment)
  • Check skin integrity (ensure there are no open infections or severely broken skin)

Aftercare

The first 24 hours avoid:

  • Hands on the skin and other objects (phone)
  • Makeup and Exfoliants (retinol, acids, enzymes)
  • Avoid excess heat (gym, saunas, hot water, etc.)
  • Sun exposure

Post treatment:

  • Use gentle and hydrating skincare products
  • Apply SPF daily, as needed.
  • Avoid facial waxing or threading for 7-10 days.
  • Return for follow-up treatment in roughly 2-4 weeks, or as recommended by your technician.

Waxing

Before Care

The ideal length of hair is approximately 1/4”

Take a warm shower before your appointment to help open your pores.

Skip the lotion, gels and oils as it may interfere with hair removal. This also applies to tanning up to 24 hours before.

After Care

Stay clear of prolonged exposure to heat. This includes saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, sunbathing as well as intense exercise for 24 hours after your wax.

We advise keeping your freshly waxed areas clean and free of any products until the following day to avoid any irritation.

Taking the time to exfoliate and moisturize regularly is the key to keeping your skin smooth soft and free of irritation.

Lash Lifts

How long does a lash lift last?

It is different for everyone, if you have long thick, dense lashes they tend to last about 6 weeks. If your lashes are thin and sparse the lash lift can last 8 weeks.

Is it safe to have frequently?

We recommend waiting 2 to 3 months in between lash lifts. It is safe to do, however it is still a service that chemically manipulates your lashes so you should give them a good rest before redoing them to avoid damaging.

Can we do a lash lift and tint at the same time?

Yes, for people who don’t have extremely sensitive teary eyes we can do both services at the same time.

Microchannelling

What is MicroChannelling?

Microchanneling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that creates tiny channels in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture and appearance. It is a minimally invasive procedure that can address concerns like wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven skin tone. While similar to microneedling, microchanneling uses a stamping rather then a dragging method that typically results in less discomfort and downtime.

Procell Microchanneling Essentials

  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer skin.
  • Improves fine lines, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and overall skin texture.
  • Uses growth-factor serums to enhance healing and maximize results.
  • Results develop over several weeks, with continued improvement over time.
  • At OOAK, Procell Microchanneling costs $350 per session or $900 for a Package of 3

Procell Microchanneling Basics

Microchanneling uses a mechanized stamper to create tiny, clean microchannels in the skin. These tiny pricks stimulate collagen production and increase the rate of serum absorption by 300%. Procell’s micro channeling device uses needles made from wire filaments, small enough to fit into a hair follicle. This minimizes damage to the dermis for faster recovery.

Candidacy & Prep

Procell Microchanneling is a very safe treatment for all skin tones.  Individuals with the below contraindications, however, should NOT have this treatment.  Additionally, if you have a history of cold sores (herpes virus), consult your physician regarding appropriate prophylactic treatment before you have Procell microchanneling as it can activate cold sores.  (Please note that Procell Microchanneling will NOT give you cold sores if you do not already have the virus.)

What is in the MD microchannel delivery solution a.k.a. Procell Serum?

At FACE, we use the MD Microchannel Delivery Serum. It contains growth factors and anti-aging, pro-healing, and anti-inflammatory ingredients such as TGF-ß3 and IL-1. MD Microchannel Delivery Serum provides faster results with shorter recovery times than the Pro serum.

Ingredients include deionized water, stem cytokines (a proprietary mixture of human bone marrow stem cell-derived growth factors and cytokines), hyaluronic acid, dehydroacetic acid, and benzyl alcohol.

The MD serum contains human bone marrow-derived growth factors in a hyaluronic acid suspension. Both elements occur naturally in the human body. There are no human, animal, or plant cells, DNA, blood, or any other foreign substances. The product has been used safely and effectively for over a decade.

The main powerhouse in Procell serum is Stem Cytokines, which supports cellular renewal. When applied to the skin, the skin mimics the effect of having more stem cells. We lose most of these stem cells as we age. By middle age only a few percent remain compared to our youth and the remaining ones are less robust. The serum has potent regenerating properties to improve skin firmness, elasticity, and tone.

What is the difference between procell microchanneling and microneedling?

The stem cell-derived growth factors that maximize results distinguish the Procell treatment. Procell Microchanneling also uses a stamping technique, less damaging than any other technique with no chance of cross contamination. Procell microchanneling tips are 100% reliable because each tip has a fixed depth.  Microneedling devices with adjustable depths are not always accurate. (Different conditions need different depths of treatment.)

Is microchanneling painful?

Most clients report mild to moderate discomfort. We numb the treatment area before the procedure. You will feel a pin prick sensation, especially over the forehead, cheekbones, and lips. Some clients report the treated skin feels hot and tight after treatment. After the treatment, the skin turns red, fades within the first hour or so, and resolves within 24 hours.

How long does each session last?

Each session usually lasts 40 minutes.

What will my skin look like after the treatment?

When needling is complete the treated skin may feel hot and tight. After the treatment, the skin turns red, fades within the first hour or so, and resolves within 24 hours. Expect a mild sloughing of the treated skin for up to 3 days after treatment. Deeper stamping depths will increase healing time.

How do stem cells and cytokines work?

Procell creates a biological interaction between damaged cells and healing cytokines. Our bone marrow contains mesenchymal stem cells. These contain DNA hardware to work towards wound healing, fighting disease, and rejuvenating skin. The cells excrete proteins called cytokines, which are like little packages of information.

When the microchannelling creates a small injury in the skin, stem cells report to the area (or, in this case, are applied to the treatment area) to heal. Cell receptors in the injured area connect with the healthy cytokine in the damaged cells. Let the healing begin!

Does process microchanneling have side effects?

Rare side effects include infection and scarring. Short-term side effects are minimal but may include:

  • Cold Sore breakout (if you already have the cold sore virus).  Consult your physician about appropriate prophylactic treatment before a procell microchanneling treatment.
  • Dry Crepey Skin (moisturize, moisturize, moisturize to ease)
  • Itchiness – during healing itching is common and can be uncomfortable. If it seems intolerable seek the advice of a doctor about treatment.
  • Acne Flare up – may occur due to the urge to touch the treated area, especially due to itchiness. Avoiding touching your face!
  • Millia (small, bump-like cysts) may appear, and are transient, resolving in a week or less - don’t pick!
  • Reddening, peeling, scabbing, temporary bruising and temporary discoloration of the skin.

How many treatments will I need and how often?

We recommend microchanneling a treatment for skin rejuvenation every 4-6 weeks. Treatment should begin at .25mm or .5mm needle depth, graduating to longer needles as necessary. One could continue this series indefinitely and experience both corrective and anti-aging benefits.

We recommend a series of 3-4 treatments for general skin rejuvenation and anti-aging. For scarring and off the face I recommend a series of up to 4-6 sessions. Quarterly, or at least semi-annual treatment is required to maintain results.

How quickly will I see results?

Results are usually seen by the second week after treatment, with full results of each session taking a month.

What is the Difference Between Procell Serums and PRP?

Procell serums and PRP both aim to stimulate skin regeneration, but Procell offers a more advanced and effective approach. Unlike PRP, which relies on the patient’s own platelets and is limited by their age and health, Procell serums contain human mesenchymal stem cell-derived cytokines, providing a broader, anti-inflammatory, and more regenerative array of growth factors. Procell enhances collagen production and wound healing without the need for a blood draw or centrifuge, making it a simpler, more accessible, and cost-effective alternative. PRP's cytokine profile is pro-inflammatory and less comprehensive, leading to slower recovery and reduced effectiveness in skin rejuvenation. With faster results, minimal inflammation, and superior skin regeneration, Procell serums are the next-generation solution for anti-aging, scar reduction, and overall skin health.

Feature Procell Serum PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
Source Human mesenchymal stem cells Patient’s own blood (platelets)
Cytokine Profile Broad-spectrum, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative Limited cytokines, pro-inflammatory
Effectiveness More powerful skin regeneration Limited by patient’s health and age
Procedure Simple, no blood draw required Requires blood draw and centrifuge process
Inflammation Low inflammation, better healing response Higher inflammation, slower healing
Cost & Convenience More accessible and efficient More expensive, time-consuming

Who should not have procell microchanneling?

  • Active inflammatory skin conditions (e.g. eczema, psoriasis, infection, rash, or any type of dermatitis at the treatment site)
